Colorado State Information

Colorado is a state located in the western United States. It is bordered by Wyoming to the north, Nebraska to the northeast, Kansas to the east, Oklahoma to the southeast, New Mexico to the south, Utah to the west, and Arizona to the southwest. Colorado is known for its diverse geography which includes majestic mountain ranges, vast plains, desert lands, and deep canyons.

The Rocky Mountains run through Colorado from north to south and are home to some of the highest peaks in North America. The highest peak in Colorado is Mount Elbert at 14,440 feet above sea level. The mountains are home to many ski resorts and offer a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and rock climbing.

The eastern part of Colorado is mostly flat plains with rolling hills and prairies. This area is known for its agricultural production including wheat, corn, hay, and cattle. The western part of Colorado is mostly desert land with sandstone canyons and mesas. This area is known for its unique geological formations such as the Great Sand Dunes National Park and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park.

Colorado has a population of 5.7 million people with Denver being its largest city. Denver is known for its vibrant culture and art scene as well as its professional sports teams such as the Broncos and Nuggets. Other major cities in Colorado include Colorado Springs, Aurora, Fort Collins, Boulder, Pueblo, Greeley, and Grand Junction.

Colorado has a diverse economy that includes agriculture, tourism, energy production (oil & gas), technology & aerospace industries as well as manufacturing & distribution centers. The state also has a thriving craft beer industry with over 300 breweries located throughout the state.
