University High School is a public high school located in Normal, Illinois. Founded in 1875, it is the oldest high school in McLean County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students.
The mission of University High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all students. The faculty strives to create an atmosphere where each student can reach their full potential through rigorous coursework, extracurricular activities, and community service opportunities.
At University High School, there are numerous clubs and organizations available for students to join such as National Honor Society (NHS), Student Council, Drama Club, Robotics Team, Mathletes Team, Science Olympiad Team and many more! There are also several sports teams including football, basketball, baseball/softball teams as well as cheerleading squad.
In addition to academics and athletics programs offered at UHS ,the school also offers career exploration courses which allow students to explore different career paths they may be interested in pursuing after graduation. Furthermore ,UHS provides college counseling services which help guide seniors through the college application process .
