Washington State Information

Washington is a state located in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It is bordered by Oregon to the south, Idaho to the east, and Canada to the north. The state capital is Olympia, and its largest city is Seattle. Washington is known for its diverse landscape, which includes mountains, forests, rivers, lakes, and ocean coastline.

The Cascade Range runs through the state from north to south, with Mount Rainier being the highest peak at 14,411 feet. The Olympic Mountains are located in the northwest corner of the state and are home to Olympic National Park. The Columbia River forms much of the northern border between Washington and Canada. The Snake River runs through eastern Washington and forms part of the border with Idaho.

Washington has a temperate climate with mild winters and warm summers. Rainfall is common throughout the year, especially in western Washington where it can be quite heavy during winter months.

Washington is home to many national parks and monuments including Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park, North Cascades National Park, and San Juan Islands National Monument. There are also numerous state parks such as Deception Pass State Park and Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument.

Washington has a strong economy based on technology, agriculture, forestry, fishing, tourism, and manufacturing. Major industries include aerospace engineering, software development, biotechnology, food processing, lumber production, and wine making. Seattle is home to many large companies such as Microsoft and Amazon.
