She attended Panola College and LSU in Baton Rouge, and worked as a financial coordinator for the past sixteen years. Her husband is a registered nurse at Willis Knighton and an officer in the Army Reserve. They have three daughters - their oldest is a freshman at LSUS, their middle daughter is a freshman at Captain Shreve, and their youngest is in 8th grade.
