Eastham MA Home for Sale

The summer of 2020 is closer than you may think, and you can feel it in this original 2BR/1BA cottage just 4 lots back (approx 600ft) from the untarnished splendor of Silver Spring Beach. Owned by the same family for the past 50 years, 'Jon's Place' is the prototypical rustic cottage that perhaps left a lasting impression on your childhood. Now it's time for a new family to revel & reminisce in the warmth of its knotty pine interior...Unimproved & unpretentious, the cottage has a come-as-you-are authenticity that seems out of place in today's world, yet these same attributes give it an undeniably familiar, reassuring & endearing qualitylike sand in your shoes. Its wooded, corner lot (.6 acres) offers privacy, southern exposure & a lungful of salt air...Break free from the costly summer rental cycle: instead of spending thousands each year on a Cape vacation with only Facebook photos to show for it, why not put that money to work for you while also investing in your family's future?...Entry is via a well-seasoned 10x15 sundeck. Inside, first impressions are of a larger & more open living space than expected, with seafoam blue flooring & a most pleasing luminous glow that seems to emanate from within. Two 10x10 bedrooms, each with its own closet & built-in cabinets, lie adjacent. A 14x12 'family room' with Andersen windows is presently used as an unofficial 3rd bedroom, complete w/closet & privacy door. Baseboard electric heat is fast & effective, taking the chill out of those cool days & crisp nights. The kitchen has a cheerful bumblebee yellow countertop & (what else?) knotty pine cabinets that over the years have acquired a lovely patina. A modestly-sized bath includes a full-size tub & shower--great for families w/young children--while the enclosed outside shower provides the perfect ending to those long days beachside...Use the cottage now 'as-is' while developing plans for future renovations. Silver Spring Beach Association has $250 yearly dues, this entails maintenance of stairs to beach, snow plowing & grading of roadways. Seller to design & install new Title 5 septic...Eastham has a rich history, from First Encounters to Outermost Houses, but your family's Eastham history can begin right here, in this affordably priced seaside opportunity. Happy house hunting!
