Lithia, Florida Description
Lithia is a small unincorporated community located in Hillsborough County, Florida. It is situated about 20 miles southeast of Tampa and is part of the greater Tampa Bay area. The town has a population of around 8,000 people and covers an area of approximately 7 square miles.
The town was founded in 1877 by settlers from Georgia who named it after the nearby Lithia Springs. The springs were known for their healing properties and were popular with visitors from all over the country. The town grew slowly but steadily over the years, becoming a popular destination for tourists and retirees alike.
Today, Lithia is a quiet residential community with plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy. There are several parks in the area, including Lithia Springs Park which features a spring-fed lake and picnic areas.
