Tennessee State Information

Tennessee is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by eight states: Kentucky to the north, Virginia to the northeast, North Carolina to the east, Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi to the south, Arkansas to the west, and Missouri to the northwest. Tennessee is known as The Volunteer State due to its role in the War of 1812 when volunteer soldiers from Tennessee played a major role in America's victory.

Tennessee has a diverse landscape with rolling hills and valleys in the east and flat plains in the west. The highest point in Tennessee is Clingmans Dome at 6,643 feet above sea level. The state also has many rivers and streams including the Tennessee River which runs through most of the state.

The climate of Tennessee is generally mild with hot summers and cold winters. The average temperature ranges from around 40 degrees Fahrenheit in January to around 80 degrees Fahrenheit in July.

Tennessee is home to many attractions including Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Dollywood theme park, Graceland (the home of Elvis Presley), and Nashville (the country music capital of the world). There are also many historical sites such as Andrew Jackson's Hermitage and Fort Loudoun State Historic Park.

Tennessee has a population of approximately 6.8 million people with Nashville being its largest city. Other major cities include Memphis, Knoxville, Chattanooga, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Franklin, and Jackson. The economy of Tennessee is largely based on agriculture with cotton being one of its main crops. Other industries include manufacturing, tourism, finance, healthcare, and technology.
