Michigan is a state located in the Great Lakes region of the United States. It is bordered by four of the five Great Lakes, Lake Superior to the north, Lake Michigan to the east, Lake Huron to the east and south, and Lake Erie to the south. Michigan is also bordered by Wisconsin and Illinois to the west, and Ohio to the south. The state has a total area of 96,716 square miles, making it the 11th largest state in the country.
