Florida is a state located in the southeastern region of the United States. It is bordered by Alabama to the northwest, Georgia to the north, and the Gulf of Mexico to the south and west. Florida is the 22nd most populous state in the US with a population of over 21 million people.

The capital of Florida is Tallahassee, located in the northern part of the state. The largest city in Florida is Jacksonville, located on the Atlantic coast. Other major cities include Miami, Tampa, Orlando, and St. Petersburg.

Florida has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. The average temperature ranges from 65°F (18°C) in January to 81°F (27°C) in July. The state receives an average of 54 inches (137 cm) of rain per year.

Florida is known for its beaches and theme parks, such as Disney World and Universal Studios. It also has many natural attractions such as Everglades National Park and Dry Tortugas National Park. Other popular tourist destinations include Miami Beach, Key West, and Daytona Beach.

Florida is home to several professional sports teams including the Miami Dolphins (NFL), Miami Heat (NBA), Tampa Bay Rays (MLB), Orlando Magic (NBA), and Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL). The University of Florida Gators are one of the most successful college football teams in history.
