Founded in 2004, Pathways provides an innovative and rigorous academic program for students from kindergarten through 8th grade. The school's mission is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, and communication while preparing students for success in college and beyond.
At Pathways Charter School, teachers use project-based learning to engage their students with real-world problems and solutions. Students are encouraged to think critically about the world around them as they explore topics such as science, technology, engineering, art & design (STEAM), global studies and more. In addition to core classes like math and language arts, Pathways offers electives such as music appreciation and physical education.
The school also has a strong focus on character development; each month focuses on one of six core values: respectfulness, responsibility, integrity/honesty/trustworthiness , kindness/compassion/empathy , perseverance/resilience ,and citizenship . Through these values-based lessons students learn how to be good citizens both inside the classroom and out in the community.
Pathways Charter School strives to create an inclusive environment where all members of the community feel welcome regardless of race or ethnicity. The school works closely with families by providing resources such as afterschool programs for parents who need extra support with homework or other activities related to their child’s education.
Overall Pathways Charter School is dedicated to helping its students reach their full potential academically while developing important life skills that will help them succeed throughout their lives
