August Schilling Elementary Description
August Schilling Elementary School is a public school located in Newark, California. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was founded in 1965 and named after August Schilling, a prominent local businessman who donated the land for its construction.
The school offers a variety of educational programs to meet the needs of all learners including special education services, English language development classes, and gifted/talented programs. In addition to core academic subjects such as math, science, social studies, and language arts, the curriculum also includes physical education classes and music instruction.
August Schilling Elementary School strives to create an environment that encourages learning while promoting respect for diversity among its student body. The faculty works hard to ensure that each student receives individualized attention so they can reach their full potential academically as well as socially. Through various extracurricular activities such as sports teams and clubs like chess club or robotics team, students are able to explore new interests outside of the classroom setting.
