Crossroads School Description
Crossroads School is a private school located in Norfolk, Virginia. Founded in 1985, Crossroads has been providing quality education to students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade for over 35 years. The school's mission is to provide an environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth while fostering respect for diversity and individual differences.
The curriculum at Crossroads focuses on developing the whole child by emphasizing critical thinking skills, problem solving strategies, creativity, collaboration and communication. Students are encouraged to explore their interests through hands-on learning experiences such as field trips, outdoor activities and service projects. In addition to core subjects like math, science and language arts, students can also take classes in art, music and physical education.
Crossroads School prides itself on its commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment where all children feel valued and respected. The faculty works hard to ensure that each student receives personalized attention so they can reach their full potential both academically and socially. With small class sizes of no more than 15 students per teacher, teachers have the opportunity to get to know each student individually which allows them to tailor instruction accordingly.
