Abingdon Elementary School is a public school located in Hayes, Virginia. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was established in 1965 and is part of the Gloucester County Public Schools system.

The mission of Abingdon Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The faculty at Abingdon are dedicated to providing quality instruction for all students while fostering positive relationships with parents and community members.

At Abingdon Elementary School, there are many opportunities for student involvement including clubs such as robotics, art club, drama club, chess club, chorus and more! There are also several extracurricular activities available such as basketball teams for both boys and girls as well as track & field events. In addition to these activities, the school offers a variety of special programs designed to meet the needs of each individual student including gifted education classes and English Language Learner (ELL) services.

Abingdon Elementary School strives to create an atmosphere where every child can reach their full potential academically while developing socially and emotionally into productive citizens who will make meaningful contributions to society.
