Parowan High School Description
Parowan High School is a public high school located in the small town of Parowan, Utah. Founded in 1891, it is one of the oldest schools in Iron County and has been providing quality education to its students for over 125 years. The school serves grades 9-12 with an enrollment of approximately 400 students.
The mission of Parowan High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth through rigorous instruction, meaningful relationships, and positive experiences. The faculty at Parowan High School are dedicated to helping their students reach their full potential by offering a variety of courses including math, science, English language arts, social studies, physical education/health sciences as well as electives such as art and music.
In addition to academics, Parowan High School also offers extracurricular activities such as athletics (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society) and student government opportunities. These activities help foster leadership skills while allowing students to explore new interests outside the classroom setting.
At Parowan High School we strive to create an atmosphere where all members feel respected and valued regardless of race or background; this includes our diverse student body which consists of Native American tribes from nearby reservations as well as other ethnicities from around the world who have made their home here in Iron County. We believe that each individual should be given equal opportunity for success no matter what path they choose after graduation whether it’s college or career readiness programs offered on campus or joining the military service branches upon completion of high school requirements.
