Cedar High School Description
Cedar City High School is a public high school located in Cedar City, Utah. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest high school in Iron County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students.
The campus consists of two main buildings: a three-story building with classrooms for core subjects such as math, science, English and social studies; and a separate building that houses electives like art, music and physical education classes. In addition to these facilities, there are several athletic fields on campus including football/soccer field, baseball diamond and track & field area.
At Cedar City High School students have access to many extracurricular activities such as sports teams (football, basketball, volleyball), clubs (National Honor Society) and performing arts groups (band). There are also numerous academic programs available including Advanced Placement courses which allow students to earn college credit while still attending high school.
Overall Cedar City High School provides its students with an excellent educational experience that prepares them for success after graduation. With its strong academics program combined with various extracurricular activities it’s no wonder why this school continues to be one of the top rated schools in Iron County!
