Meigs County High School Description
Meigs County High School is a public high school located in Decatur, Tennessee. Established in 1891, it is the oldest and largest high school in Meigs County. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
The mission of Meigs County High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The faculty and staff strive to create an atmosphere where all students can reach their full potential through rigorous instruction and meaningful experiences.
At Meigs County High School, there are numerous opportunities for student involvement including athletics, clubs & organizations, fine arts programs such as band & choir, career technical education classes (CTE), dual enrollment courses with local colleges/universities, Advanced Placement (AP) classes & exams offered each year along with many other extracurricular activities available to our students.
Meigs County High School also offers a variety of support services for its students including counseling services provided by certified counselors who work closely with teachers & administrators to ensure that every student receives the best possible educational experience while attending MCHS. Additionally we have a dedicated team of special education professionals who provide specialized instruction tailored to meet the individual needs of our special education population.
