Collierville High School Description
Collierville High School is a public high school located in Collierville, Tennessee. Established in 1891, it is the oldest secondary school in Shelby County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,400 students.
The campus consists of two buildings: a main building with classrooms, offices, library media center, cafeteria and auditorium; and a second building for athletics which includes gymnasiums, locker rooms and weight room facilities. The school also offers several extracurricular activities such as band, choir, drama club and student government.
Collierville High School prides itself on its commitment to academic excellence by providing rigorous courses that challenge all learners while preparing them for college or career readiness upon graduation. In addition to traditional course offerings such as math, science and English language arts classes; the school also provides advanced placement (AP) courses along with dual enrollment opportunities through local universities.
The faculty at Collierville High School are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential both academically and socially by creating an environment where learning can take place without fear or intimidation. With strong parental involvement encouraged throughout the year via parent/teacher conferences or volunteer programs; parents have ample opportunity to stay informed about their child’s progress within this supportive community atmosphere.
