Upperman High School Description
Upperman High School is a public school located in Baxter, Tennessee. It serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. The school was founded in 1969 and is part of the Putnam County Schools district.
The mission of Upperman High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The faculty at Upperman strive to create an atmosphere where all students can reach their full potential through rigorous instruction and meaningful experiences.
Upperman offers a wide variety of courses including Advanced Placement (AP) classes as well as career technical education programs such as automotive technology, cosmetology, culinary arts, health sciences, welding technology and more. In addition to academics, the school also provides extracurricular activities such as athletics (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society), student government organizations (Student Council), performing arts groups (band/choir/drama) and other special interest groups like robotics or chess club.
