Philip Simmons Middle Description
Philip Simmons Middle School is a public school located in Charleston, South Carolina. Founded in 1965, the school serves students from grades 6-8 and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school's mission is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all its students.
The faculty at Philip Simmons Middle School are dedicated to providing quality education with a focus on developing critical thinking skills and fostering creativity. They strive to create an atmosphere where every student feels valued and respected while also challenging them academically. The curriculum includes core subjects such as math, science, language arts, social studies, physical education, art, music and technology. In addition to these courses there are several electives offered including Spanish language classes and robotics club.
At Philip Simmons Middle School we believe that extracurricular activities play an important role in helping our students develop into well rounded individuals who can succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. We offer a variety of clubs such as chess club, debate team, drama club and yearbook committee which allow our students to explore their interests further while building relationships with peers who share similar passions.
We take pride in creating a supportive community here at Philip Simmons Middle School where everyone feels welcome regardless of background or ability level. Our goal is to ensure that each student reaches their full potential by providing them with the resources they need to be successful now and in the future!
