Roxborough High School Description
Roxborough High School is a public high school located in the Roxborough neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Founded in 1891, it is one of the oldest schools in the city and has been educating students for over 125 years. The school offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes core academic courses as well as electives such as art, music, physical education and technology.
The student body at Roxborough High School consists of approximately 1,000 students from diverse backgrounds who come from all parts of Philadelphia and its surrounding suburbs. The faculty are dedicated to providing an excellent educational experience for their students by offering challenging classes and engaging activities both inside and outside the classroom.
In addition to academics, Roxborough High School also provides extracurricular activities such as sports teams (including football, basketball, baseball/softball), clubs (such as drama club or robotics) and other organizations like National Honor Society or Student Council. These programs help foster leadership skills while allowing students to explore their interests beyond the classroom walls.
At Roxborough High School we strive to create an environment where our students can reach their full potential academically while developing into responsible citizens with strong character values. We believe that every student should have access to quality education regardless of background or financial status; therefore we offer several scholarships each year to ensure that no student is left behind due to lack of resources.
