Benson Polytechnic High School Description
Benson Polytechnic High School is a public high school located in Portland, Oregon. Founded in 1891, Benson has been providing quality education to the students of Portland for over 125 years. The school offers an array of academic and extracurricular activities that are designed to challenge and engage its student body.
At Benson, students can choose from a variety of courses including math, science, English language arts, social studies, foreign languages and physical education. In addition to these core classes, Benson also provides specialized programs such as Advanced Placement (AP) courses and college-level dual credit classes. Students have access to state-of-the-art technology resources such as computers with internet access and interactive whiteboards throughout the building.
Outside of academics, Benson offers numerous clubs and organizations for students to get involved in their community or explore new interests. These include sports teams like football and basketball; performing arts groups like choir and theater; service clubs like Key Club; honor societies like National Honor Society; career exploration opportunities through internships; leadership development through Student Council; outdoor recreation activities through Outdoor Adventure Club; robotics competitions through FIRST Robotics Team 4488; music ensembles such as jazz band or marching band; art classes ranging from drawing to photography; culinary classes featuring cooking demonstrations by local chefs—and much more!
