John A Holmes High Description
John A Holmes High School is a public high school located in Edenton, North Carolina. Founded in 1965, the school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students. The school's mission is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all its students.
The curriculum at John A Holmes High School focuses on preparing students for college and career readiness through rigorous coursework and extracurricular activities. Students have access to advanced placement courses as well as electives such as art, music, physical education, technology education, foreign language studies and more. In addition to academics, the school offers numerous clubs and organizations including student government associations (SGA), National Honor Society (NHS) chapters, Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), Key Club International (KCI) chapters and many others.
John A Holmes High School also provides a variety of athletic programs including football, basketball, baseball/softball teams along with cheerleading squads. The school’s mascot is the Eagles which reflects their commitment to excellence both inside and outside the classroom. With dedicated teachers who are committed to helping each student reach their full potential academically and socially; John A Holmes High School strives to create an atmosphere where every student can thrive!
