West Point High School Description
West Point High School is a public school located in West Point, Mississippi. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest high school in Clay County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
The mission of West Point High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all students. The faculty strives to create an atmosphere where each student can reach their full potential through rigorous instruction, meaningful activities, and positive relationships with peers and staff members.
West Point High School offers a variety of courses including Advanced Placement classes as well as career technical education programs such as welding technology, automotive technology, cosmetology, culinary arts, health science technology and more. In addition to academics, there are many extracurricular activities available at West Point High School including sports teams (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society) and performing arts groups (band).
