University Preparatory Academy (PSAD) Middle School is a public charter school located in Detroit, Michigan. Founded in 2009, the school serves students from grades 6-8 and provides an academically rigorous curriculum that prepares them for success at the high school level and beyond. The mission of University Prep Academy is to provide a safe learning environment where all students can reach their highest potential through challenging academics, character development, and service learning opportunities.

At UPA Middle School, teachers use innovative teaching methods to engage students in meaningful learning experiences. Students are encouraged to think critically about the world around them while developing strong problem solving skills. In addition to core academic subjects such as math, science, language arts, social studies and foreign languages; UPA also offers enrichment classes like music appreciation and art history.

UPA Middle School has a strong focus on community involvement with numerous volunteer opportunities available throughout the year. Through these activities students learn how they can make positive contributions to their local communities while gaining valuable life experience along the way.
