The mission of Poolesville Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The staff works hard to create an atmosphere where all children can reach their full potential as learners and citizens.

Poolesville Elementary offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse student body including special education services, English language learner support, gifted/talented programming, after-school activities such as sports teams and clubs, and more. In addition to academics, the school also provides enrichment opportunities for students such as art classes, music lessons, field trips, assemblies with guest speakers or performers, outdoor playtime on the playgrounds or fields behind the building.
