Dowell Elementary School is a public school located in Lusby, Maryland. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was established in 1965 and is part of the Calvert County Public Schools system.

The mission of Dowell Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence, personal growth, and responsible citizenship. The staff at Dowell strive to create an atmosphere where all children can reach their full potential as learners and citizens.

At Dowell Elementary School, teachers use innovative teaching methods such as project-based learning and technology integration to engage students in meaningful activities that promote critical thinking skills. In addition, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities including sports teams, clubs, after-school programs, field trips, and more.

Dowell Elementary School also provides support services for its students such as counseling services for social/emotional needs; special education services; English language learner (ELL) instruction; health services; nutrition assistance; parent involvement opportunities; and much more.
