Matthew A. Henson Elementary School is a public school located in the heart of Baltimore, Maryland. It serves students from pre-kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was established in 1965 and named after Matthew Alexander Henson, an African American explorer who accompanied Robert Peary on his 1909 expedition to the North Pole.
