Springfield Central High School Description

Springfield Central High School is a public high school located in Springfield, Massachusetts. Established in 1887, it is the oldest and largest high school in the city of Springfield. The school has an enrollment of over 1,500 students from grades 9-12 and offers a wide range of academic programs including Advanced Placement courses, honors classes, career technical education (CTE) pathways, and college preparatory classes.

The campus consists of two buildings: the main building which houses classrooms for core subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies; and the annex building which contains specialized classrooms for CTE pathways such as Automotive Technology or Culinary Arts. In addition to its academic offerings, Springfield Central High School also provides extracurricular activities such as sports teams (football, basketball etc.), clubs (drama club), student government organizations (Student Council), music ensembles (band/orchestra) and more.

At Springfield Central High School we strive to provide our students with a safe learning environment that encourages them to reach their full potential academically while developing important life skills that will help them succeed beyond graduation day.
