Brooks School Description

Brooks School is a private, co-educational college preparatory school located in Medford, Massachusetts. Founded in 1926 by the Reverend Dr. Charles Brooks and his wife Mary, it has grown to become one of the most prestigious schools in New England. The school offers an academically rigorous curriculum that emphasizes critical thinking and problem solving skills as well as creative expression through art and music. Students are encouraged to explore their interests outside of the classroom with extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs, community service projects, and more.

The campus at 388 High Street consists of two main buildings: a historic brick building built in 1891 which houses classrooms for grades 9-12; and a modern facility completed in 2006 which includes additional classrooms for lower grades (K-8), science labs, library resources center, auditoriums/theaters for performing arts programs, athletic fields/courts/tracks for physical education classes and competitive sports teams.

At Brooks School students benefit from small class sizes where teachers can provide individualized attention to each student’s learning needs while also fostering collaboration among peers. In addition to its academic excellence program there is also an emphasis on character development with opportunities for leadership roles within the student body government or other organizations like Model United Nations or National Honor Society chapters.
