Hanson Middle School is a public school located in the small town of Hanson, Massachusetts. Founded in 1875, it has been providing quality education to students for over 140 years. The school serves grades 5-8 and currently enrolls approximately 500 students from the surrounding area.
The mission of Hanson Middle School is to provide an environment that encourages learning and personal growth while fostering respect for self and others. The faculty strives to create a safe, supportive atmosphere where all students can reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
At Hanson Middle School, teachers use innovative teaching methods such as project-based learning and technology integration to engage students in meaningful activities that promote critical thinking skills. In addition to core academic subjects like math, science, language arts, social studies and foreign languages; the school also offers electives including art classes, music lessons and physical education courses.
In order to ensure student success outside of the classroom walls; Hanson Middle School provides numerous extracurricular activities such as sports teams (soccer & basketball), clubs (robotics & chess) as well as afterschool programs (homework help & tutoring). Through these opportunities; students are able to develop leadership skills while having fun with friends!
