Cankton Elementary School Description

Cankton Elementary School is a vibrant and diverse learning environment located in the heart of Sunset, Louisiana. Established in 1887, Cankton has been providing quality education to students for over 130 years. With an enrollment of approximately 500 students from kindergarten through fifth grade, Cankton offers a wide variety of educational opportunities that are tailored to meet the needs of each individual student.

At Cankton, we strive to create an atmosphere where all children can learn and grow together as part of our school family. Our teachers are dedicated professionals who work hard to ensure that every child receives the best possible education. We offer a comprehensive curriculum with classes ranging from math and science to art and music. In addition, we provide extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs, after-school programs, field trips and more!

We believe that it takes a village to raise a child; therefore we encourage parents and guardians to be actively involved in their child’s education by attending parent-teacher conferences or volunteering at school events.
