Murray High School Description

Murray High School is a public high school located in Murray, Kentucky. Established in 1891, it is the oldest and largest high school in Calloway County. The school serves over 1,200 students from grades 9-12 and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for its students.

The campus consists of two buildings: an academic building with classrooms and laboratories; and an athletic complex with gymnasiums, fields, courts, and other facilities. The curriculum includes core classes such as English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, foreign languages (Spanish & French), physical education/health sciences/driver’s education courses; electives such as art & music appreciation; career technology programs including business management & marketing; advanced placement courses; college preparatory classes; special needs services for those who require additional support to succeed academically or socially; and extracurricular activities like band & chorus performances.

Murray High School has been recognized by the state of Kentucky for its excellence in academics and athletics. It boasts numerous awards including being named one of the top 10 schools in the state by US News & World Report magazine. Additionally, many graduates have gone on to attend prestigious universities across the country due to their hard work while attending Murray High School.
