Topeka High School Description
Topeka High School is a public high school located in Topeka, Kansas. Founded in 1871, it is the oldest and largest high school in Shawnee County. With an enrollment of over 2,000 students from grades 9-12, Topeka High offers a comprehensive educational experience for its diverse student body.
The school's curriculum includes core classes such as English, math, science and social studies as well as electives like art, music and physical education. Advanced Placement courses are also available to qualified students who wish to challenge themselves academically. The school has been recognized by the state of Kansas for its academic excellence with numerous awards including being named one of the top 10 schools in the state for college readiness.
In addition to academics, Topeka High provides many extracurricular activities that allow students to explore their interests outside of the classroom. These include sports teams such as football and basketball; clubs like drama and robotics; service organizations like Key Club; and special interest groups like chess club or anime club. There are also plenty of opportunities for leadership development through Student Council or National Honor Society membership.
