Atchison High School Description
Atchison High School is a public high school located in Atchison, Kansas. Established in 1867, it is the oldest continuously operating high school in the state of Kansas and one of the oldest west of the Mississippi River. The school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students from grades 9-12.
Atchison High School offers a wide variety of courses to meet the needs and interests of its student body. These include core classes such as English, math, science, social studies and foreign language; electives like art, music and physical education; advanced placement (AP) classes; college preparatory courses; career technical education programs; and special education services for those with disabilities or learning differences.
The faculty at Atchison High School are dedicated to providing quality instruction that prepares students for success after graduation. They strive to create an environment where all students can reach their full potential through rigorous academics combined with extracurricular activities such as athletics, clubs and organizations.
