Massac County High School Description
Massac County High School is a public high school located in Metropolis, Illinois. Founded in 1875, it is the oldest and largest high school in Massac County. The school serves over 1,500 students from grades 9-12 and offers a wide range of educational opportunities to its diverse student body.
The campus consists of two main buildings: the original building built in 1875 and an additional wing added in 2000. The original building houses classrooms for core subjects such as English, math, science, social studies and foreign language classes; while the newer wing contains specialized classrooms for art, music and technology courses.
In addition to traditional academic offerings, Massac County High School also provides extracurricular activities including sports teams (football, basketball, baseball/softball), clubs (National Honor Society) and performing arts groups (band). Students can also participate in community service projects through the Student Council or join one of several honor societies that recognize excellence in academics or leadership skills.
At Massac County High School we strive to provide our students with an enriching learning environment where they can develop their talents both inside and outside of the classroom. We are proud to be part of this vibrant community!
