Mark Delay School is a private, co-educational school located in Darien, Illinois. Founded in 1971, the school provides an education for students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The mission of Mark Delay School is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that encourages learning and personal growth.
The curriculum at Mark Delay School focuses on developing each student's individual strengths while providing them with the skills necessary to succeed academically and socially. Students are encouraged to explore their interests through hands-on activities such as art projects, science experiments, field trips, and outdoor playtime. In addition to core academic subjects like math, reading/language arts, social studies, and science; students also receive instruction in Spanish language classes as well as physical education classes.
At Mark Delay School there is an emphasis placed on character development which includes teaching respect for self and others along with problem solving skills. Parents are actively involved in their child’s educational experience by attending parent/teacher conferences throughout the year as well as volunteering time within the classroom setting when needed.
Mark Delay School offers after school programs such as sports teams (soccer & basketball), music lessons (piano & guitar) , chess club , drama club , robotics team , dance class , cooking class , computer coding class . These extracurricular activities help foster creativity while allowing students to develop new friendships outside of the classroom setting .
