James Monroe Elementary School is a vibrant and diverse learning community located in the heart of Chicago, IL. Founded in 1891, James Monroe has been providing quality education to students for over 125 years. The school serves approximately 500 students from Pre-K through 8th grade and offers a wide range of academic programs including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education and Health.
At James Monroe Elementary School we strive to create an environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking while fostering respect for diversity. Our teachers are dedicated professionals who use innovative teaching methods to engage their students in meaningful learning experiences. We also offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as art classes, music lessons and sports teams which help our students develop important life skills like teamwork and leadership.
