Bloomington High School Description

Bloomington High School is a public high school located in Bloomington, Illinois. Founded in 1872, it is the oldest and largest high school in McLean County. The school serves over 2,000 students from grades 9-12 and offers an array of educational opportunities to its diverse student body.

The campus features modern facilities including a state-of-the-art library, two gymnasiums, a performing arts center with auditorium seating for 1,200 people, and several computer labs equipped with the latest technology. In addition to traditional academic courses such as math and science, Bloomington High School also provides specialized programs like Advanced Placement (AP) classes and career technical education (CTE).

Outside of academics, BHS has many extracurricular activities available for students to participate in. These include sports teams such as football and basketball; clubs like National Honor Society; music ensembles like marching band; theater productions; art shows; robotics competitions; debate teams; yearbook staffs; student government organizations; community service projects; and more!

At Bloomington High School we strive to provide our students with an exceptional learning experience that prepares them for success beyond graduation day. We are proud of our long history of excellence in academics and athletics while providing a safe environment where all can thrive!
