Fred Becker Elementary School is a public school located in Waterloo, Iowa. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was founded in 1965 and named after Fred Becker, a local businessman who donated the land for the school's construction.
The mission of Fred Becker Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment where all children can reach their full potential academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. The staff at Fred Becker are dedicated to providing quality instruction that meets the needs of each student while fostering respect for diversity within our community.
At Fred Becker Elementary School, we strive to create an atmosphere that encourages creativity and critical thinking skills as well as collaboration among peers. We offer a variety of extracurricular activities such as art classes, music lessons, sports teams, clubs and more! Our teachers work hard to ensure that every student receives individualized attention so they can succeed both inside and outside the classroom.
We believe that education should be fun and engaging for all students; therefore we have implemented several innovative programs such as STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) initiatives which allow students to explore different areas of science through hands-on experiments. Additionally, our library provides access to books on various topics so that students can expand their knowledge beyond what is taught in class.
At Fred Becker Elementary School we are committed to helping our students become successful citizens by instilling values such as responsibility, integrity and respect into them from an early age. We look forward to continuing this tradition for many years to come!
