Greene County High School is a public high school located in Jefferson, Iowa. Established in 1875, it serves the students of Greene County and surrounding areas. The school has an enrollment of approximately 500 students from grades 9-12.
The mission of Greene County High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all students. The faculty and staff strive to create an atmosphere where each student can reach their full potential while developing respect for themselves, others, and the community at large.
Greene County High School offers a wide variety of courses including core classes such as English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Physical Education/Health and Foreign Language; electives such as Art & Music; Advanced Placement (AP) courses; Career & Technical Education (CTE); Dual Credit opportunities with local colleges; online course offerings through Edmentum Online Learning Academy; and many extracurricular activities like athletics teams (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society), music programs (band & choir), drama productions and more!
