Capitol View Elementary School Description

Capitol View Elementary School is a public school located in the heart of Des Moines, Iowa. Founded in 1891, Capitol View has been providing quality education to students for over 125 years. The school serves approximately 500 students from kindergarten through fifth grade and offers an array of educational opportunities including music, art, physical education and technology classes.

The faculty at Capitol View are dedicated to helping each student reach their full potential by creating a safe and nurturing learning environment that encourages exploration and creativity. They strive to provide engaging lessons that challenge students while also fostering collaboration among peers. In addition to core academic subjects such as math, science and language arts, teachers offer enrichment activities like robotics clubs or chess tournaments which help develop critical thinking skills.

At Capitol View Elementary School we believe that every child deserves access to a high-quality education regardless of background or ability level. We work hard to ensure our students have the resources they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Our commitment to excellence has earned us recognition from local organizations such as the United Way of Central Iowa for our dedication towards closing achievement gaps within our community.
