Ware County High School Description
Ware County High School is a public high school located in Waycross, Georgia. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest and largest high school in Ware County. The school serves over 1,400 students from grades 9-12 and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for its students.
The campus consists of two main buildings: the original building built in 1891 and an additional building added in 2002 to accommodate growth. Both buildings are equipped with modern technology including interactive whiteboards, computers, and projectors. In addition to classrooms, there are several specialized areas such as science labs, art studios, music rooms, computer labs, library media centers and athletic facilities.
At Ware County High School students can participate in a range of extracurricular activities including sports teams (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society), performing arts groups (band/orchestra/choir) and academic competitions (Science Olympiad). The school also provides career counseling services to help prepare students for college or other post-secondary options after graduation.
