Columbia High School Description
Columbia High School is a public high school located in Decatur, Georgia. Established in 1891, it is the oldest high school in DeKalb County and one of the oldest schools in the state. Columbia High School has a long history of excellence and achievement, having been named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education for its academic performance and commitment to educational excellence.
The student body at Columbia High School consists of approximately 1,400 students from diverse backgrounds who come together to create an inclusive learning environment that encourages collaboration and respect among all members of the community. The faculty at Columbia High School are highly qualified professionals dedicated to providing quality instruction and support for their students’ success both inside and outside of the classroom.
In addition to offering rigorous academics, Columbia High School also provides numerous extracurricular activities such as sports teams, clubs, performing arts programs, volunteer opportunities, leadership development programs, career exploration courses and more. These activities help foster personal growth while allowing students to explore their interests beyond traditional coursework.
