Taylor County High School is a public school located in Butler, Georgia. Founded in 1876, it is the oldest high school in Taylor County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
The mission of Taylor County High School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all students. The faculty strives to create an atmosphere where each student can reach their full potential through rigorous instruction, meaningful activities, and positive relationships with peers and staff members.
Taylor County High School offers a wide range of courses including Advanced Placement classes as well as career technical education programs such as automotive technology, culinary arts, cosmetology, health sciences, welding technology and more. In addition to academics there are many extracurricular activities available at TCHS such as athletics (football, basketball), clubs (National Honor Society) and performing arts (band).
