Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School Description
Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School is a public school located in Atlanta, Georgia. It serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and has an enrollment of approximately 500 students. The school was founded in 1971 and named after Hamilton E. Holmes, the first African American to attend the University of Georgia Law School.
The mission of Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School is to provide a safe learning environment that encourages academic excellence and personal growth for all students while promoting respect for diversity within our community. The school offers a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse student population including special education services, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, gifted/talented programming, and after-school activities such as sports teams and clubs.
Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School strives to create an atmosphere where every child can reach their full potential by providing quality instruction with high expectations for success in academics, behavior, citizenship, and social skills development. The faculty works hard to ensure that each student receives individualized attention so they can achieve their goals both inside and outside the classroom setting.
At Hamilton E. Holmes Elementary School we believe that every child deserves access to quality education regardless of race or economic background; therefore we strive to make sure our doors are open wide enough for everyone who wishes to learn here!
