Turner Elementary School is a public school located in the vibrant and diverse neighborhood of Washington, DC. Established in 1887, Turner has been providing quality education to students for over 130 years. The school serves approximately 500 students from Pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade.
At Turner Elementary School, we strive to create an environment that encourages learning and growth while fostering respect for all individuals. Our dedicated staff works hard to ensure our students receive a well-rounded education with emphasis on core academic subjects such as math, science, language arts and social studies. We also offer enrichment programs including art, music and physical education classes which help develop creativity and critical thinking skills.
We are proud of our commitment to diversity at Turner Elementary School; we celebrate different cultures by hosting cultural events throughout the year such as International Day or Chinese New Year celebrations. Additionally, we provide support services for English Language Learners (ELL) so they can reach their full potential academically and socially.
Our goal is to prepare each student for success beyond elementary school by instilling strong values such as integrity, responsibility and respect within them during their time here at Turner Elementary School.
