Seed Pcs Description

Seed Public Charter School is a public charter school located in Washington, DC. Founded in 2011, Seed provides an innovative and rigorous education to students from pre-K through 8th grade. The school’s mission is to “prepare all of our students for college success by providing them with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to become responsible citizens and leaders in their communities.”

At Seed Public Charter School, teachers use project-based learning as well as technology integration to engage students in meaningful learning experiences that are tailored to each student's individual needs. In addition to core academic subjects such as math, science, language arts, social studies and physical education; the school also offers enrichment classes such as art, music and foreign languages.

The school has a strong commitment to community service and encourages its students to get involved with local organizations that promote positive change within their neighborhoods. Through partnerships with local businesses and non-profits, Seed Public Charter School strives to provide its students with real world experiences that will help prepare them for future success.

In addition to academics, Seed Public Charter School also places an emphasis on character development which includes teaching respect for self and others along with developing good decision making skills. With small class sizes (averaging 15:1) teachers are able create personalized learning plans for each student while still maintaining high standards of excellence across the board.
