Derby High School is a public high school located at 75 Chatfield St in Derby, Connecticut. Established in 1871, it is the oldest continuously operating high school in the state of Connecticut and one of the oldest schools in New England. The school serves students from grades 9-12 and has an enrollment of approximately 1,000 students.
Derby High School offers a comprehensive curriculum that includes core academic courses such as English, math, science, social studies and foreign language; elective classes such as art, music and physical education; Advanced Placement (AP) courses; college preparatory programs; career technical education (CTE); special education services; and extracurricular activities including sports teams for boys’ football, basketball, baseball and soccer as well as girls’ volleyball, softball and track & field.
