Tehachapi High School Description
Tehachapi High School is a public high school located in Tehachapi, California. Founded in 1891, it is the oldest high school in Kern County and one of the oldest schools in the state. The school serves over 1,400 students from grades 9-12 and offers a wide variety of educational opportunities for its diverse student body.
The campus consists of two main buildings: an academic building with classrooms, labs, library and media center; and an athletic facility with gymnasiums, weight rooms, locker rooms and outdoor sports fields. In addition to traditional classes such as math, science and English language arts courses are offered that focus on career exploration or college preparation. Advanced Placement (AP) courses are also available for those who wish to challenge themselves academically.
Outside of academics there are many extracurricular activities at Tehachapi High School including athletics teams such as football, basketball and soccer; clubs like drama club or robotics team; music programs like marching band or choir; art classes ranging from drawing to photography; leadership organizations like Student Council or National Honor Society; service groups such as Key Club or Interact Club; plus much more!
At Tehachapi High School we strive to provide our students with a safe learning environment where they can grow both academically and socially while preparing them for success after graduation.
