El Capitan High Description
El Capitan High School is a public high school located in Merced, California. Founded in 1965, El Capitan has been providing quality education to the students of Merced County for over 50 years. With an enrollment of approximately 1,500 students from grades 9-12, El Capitan offers a wide variety of courses and extracurricular activities that help prepare its students for college and beyond.
The faculty at El Capitan are dedicated to helping their students succeed both academically and personally. The school provides numerous resources such as tutoring services, career counseling, and college preparation classes to ensure that all students have access to the tools they need to reach their goals. In addition, El Capitan also offers several Advanced Placement (AP) courses which allow motivated students the opportunity to earn college credit while still in high school.
Outside of academics, El Capitan boasts a vibrant student life with many clubs and organizations available for participation including sports teams like football and basketball as well as music groups such as band or choir. There are also plenty of opportunities for community service through various volunteer programs offered by the school throughout the year.
